Driving Lessons in Richmond
Lessons throughout Richmond, from the busy City Centre grid to the quieter streets around Steveston.
Richmond is flat and laid out on a wide grid, which makes it one of the easier places in the region to take a first lesson. Long straight streets and generous intersections give a new driver room to think, and there is little of the hill work that makes other parts of the Lower Mainland demanding early on.
That changes around City Centre. No. 3 Road carries the Canada Line above it and heavy traffic beneath it, with buses, cyclists, turning lanes and pedestrians at every block. Practising here builds lane selection, observation and the habit of planning a turn well before the intersection arrives.
Westminster Highway, Steveston Highway, Granville Avenue and the approaches to the Knight Street and Oak Street bridges add merging at speed and multi-lane traffic. Steveston and the residential streets around Seafair and Broadmoor are quieter, and suit parking practice and the slower manoeuvres.
We choose the route to match your stage, and the last lessons before a test run on the roads around the office you are booked at.

Common questions
Where do lessons start in Richmond?
We teach from City Centre and Brighouse out to Steveston, Seafair, Broadmoor, Hamilton and the Cambie areas. Pickup and drop-off may be available depending on your location and the road-test area. Convenient meeting points near SkyTrain stations are also available.
Is Richmond a good place to start if I have never driven?
It is one of the better places to start. The grid is flat and wide, so early lessons can focus on control and observation before moving into the heavier traffic around No. 3 Road.
Will we practise bridge driving?
Yes, when you are ready. The Knight Street and Oak Street bridge approaches are the usual place to practise merging at speed and holding a lane in faster traffic.
